When we started writing A Matter of Time, Rick and I went back to our roots, revisiting the records that we listened to in each other’s bedrooms as teenagers. These records helped us learn how to write together, and we fell in love with them all over again.
Fans have been asking for many years for us to record some cover versions, so this year it feels like the right time to do exactly that. Rather than just picking a load of random songs, we have selected tracks that mean a lot to us and that have been a part of the musical songwriting partnership between Rick and myself, as well as the history of Shed Seven.
But like everything we do, we wanted to make sure we got it right. So, we spent two intense weeks this summer at Vada Studios, pouring our hearts into making these songs sound as good as possible.
We sincerely hope we’ve done them proud.
